Location: Mesologi, Greece
Eligibility requirements: Must be 18 years old or over and preferably with least one year of undergraduate study completed, with a relevant scientific major such as biology, aquaculture and fisheries is desired but not essential. Interns must have a genuine interest in marine conservation and commitment to hands-on work and research activities at the research center.

Aquaculture and Fisheries Internship

- Freshwater, saltwater, and reef aquarium construction

Accommodation
The accommodation is fully furnished (single or double beds), with WiFi, shared with 1-5 other mixed-sex interns. The last night of the accommodation is the Friday night of the final week, leaving interns free to depart on Saturday. Extra nights of accommodation or private apartments can be arranged in advance, if requested and subject to availability.
Country Information
Internships start on Mondays and interns have a choice to participate to a program between a minimum of 2 weeks or up to a maximum of 12 weeks .
The program fee includes a free airport pickup from Athens Airport, on the Sunday before the Monday start date. To qualify for the free pickup interns are required to arrive between 9am-6pm. At the airport interns will be welcomed and transferred to the regional bus to reach the town of Mesologi. For interns arriving at an earlier date, an airport pickup (and bus station drop-off) maybe provided if requested and subject to availability.
Adequate information about the town and hosting institution will be sent before arrival. It includes information about the city, local culture, rules, emergency contact numbers and the local team.
Interns should budget 30 Euros (about US$35) for a 30-day unlimited public transport card, 3-5 Euros for breakfast (about US$5-7) and 5-10 Euros for a simple lunch (about US$5-12). Greece has many dining options and from many different cuisines ranging from budget to high end depending on the intern’s needs. Most places accept credit/debit cards but interns are advised to carry cash in Euros.

Greece is one of the warmest countries in Europe with long, hot & dry summers and mild winters. The popular time to visit Greece is between May to September end. Occasionally heatwaves may occur with temperatures peaking (1-2 days) around 105°F / 41°C.
